Airplane
Airplane is the fastest but also the expensive way to travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Taxi
There are 3 kinds of taxi you can take: normal taxi, mini- van taxi and shared taxi.
Taxis between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap cost between 65 to 85 dollars and takes 5 to 6 hours. It can be hired in airports, any guest houses and hotels. This is a private taxi so its capacity is no more than 4 people.
In contrast, mini-van taxi can carry up to 15 people. It costs between 100 and 180 dollars per one car. You can hire mini-van taxis in many tourist areas in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
Another option is shared taxi. The taxi used for this service is a 5-seater Camry but the driver often waits for 6 passengers to go. The price is between 12 dollars per one tourist. You may have to pay extra money for the front seat.
Boat
Taking a boat from Siem Riep to Phnom Penh sounds to be the most interesting but adventurous way. On the high level water season, there are usually scores more onboard than there are seats for. Therefore you can sit on top and watch the countryside goes by. The ticket costs about 35 dollars. Depending on the season and water levels, the trip can take between 4 to 8 hours.
