The huge bed-like seats and air-condition make a welcome break from the really hot dusty city.

Wanting some Cambodian tat to take back to you loved ones, friends and family? One of the most fun things to do in Phnom Penh is experiencing the enthusiastic haggling and lively atmosphere at the city markets. And at the Central Market, from bargains on designer fakes to video games and even the odd original handicraft, you can pick up everything. Together with plenty of opportunity to brush up on your bargaining skills, the unique souvenirs and the impressive 1930s Art Deco architecture of the market, are well worth your exploration. Getting going around 5pm, the market, which is a few blocks southwest of the Night Market by the riverside, is an ideal place to head for reasonable food once you get hungry, for not only local dishes but also some great Indian bites.
