ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVE SIEM REAP – PHNOM KROM |
Welcome to Siem Reap. You are picked up at the airport by your local English speaking tour guide Check in your hotel and have a short rest before you explore the treasure of the Cambodia. This afternoon, start your cycling route via the rural Cambodia with temples, rice fields, villages on small back road. Pass through the village of Chreav on route to the Tonle Sap Lake – the largest fresh water lake in South Eat Asia. On the way you will stop at the ancient Wat Athvea, then continue to cycle to Phnom Krom Hill after a short rest. The temple at Phnom Krom is the best viewpoint for the huge Tonle Sap Lake. Transfer back to town. Dinner with Apsara dancing in a local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap. Approx: 17km cycling Meals: Dinner |
DAY 2: SIEM REAP – ROLUOS GROUP – HARIHARALAYA MEDITATION CENTER |
After breakfast at hotel, we head to Roluos Temples – an ancient temple complex built in 8th & 9th century including Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko. Here you will get on an ox cart and enjoy the quietness along the rice fields and palm trees. Next you will experience the cultural activity – water blessing ceremony in a pagoda. This ceremony is for health and peaceful life. Picnic lunch on the way. Continue to Hariharalaya Meditation Retreat Center. Hariharalaya is a hidden place outside of town., surrounding by farmland and villages. The retreat is an oasis of consciousness and creativity, awakening to life and with life in each moment in the shade of these ancient temples. This continual unfolding of beauty, truth and love leads us through many explorations each day – through yoga, creative arts, breathing, healing foods, permaculture, flower medicine, contemplation, meditation, study, music, conversation, silence, dance, detox, chanting, togetherness, smiling and simply just being Enjoy an evening of meditative reflection and vegetarian vegan feast. DAY 3: HARIHARALAYA MEDITATION RETREAT CENTER |
Breakfast at the Retreat, join a Yoga class, meditation program of the centre as scheduled. Overnight in Hariharalaya Meditation Retreat Center. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
DAY 4: HARIHARALAYA MEDITATION CENTER – ANGKOR WAT – SIEM REAP |
After breakfast, transfer to Angkor Thom. – – the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. The city is surrounded by an 8m high wall. We will enter the city through the ancient South Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and four giant faces. On each side of the entrance path is a row of 54 gods or demons is holding the sacred Naga snake. Continue to Bayon Temple – built in 12th century with 54 towers of faces representing provinces of the Khmer Empire. You will also visit Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Finish the day at the famous Angkor Wat – built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. Angkor Wat has more than 2,000 Apsara dancers carved in the temple and many other parts depicted legends, history and lives at the time. Leavin Angkor Wat, we head to Ta Prohm temple the famous temple with overgrown trees over it, also where the Tomb Raider movie was filmed. Tonight you will enjoy dinner at the famous Cuisine Wat Damnak (closed Sunday/Monday in low season and Monday in high season). Overnight in Siem Reap. Approx: 30km bike. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
DAY 5: SIEM REAP DEPARTURE |
Free for your own leisure before transfer to airport for your departure flight. Meals: Breakfast |
