Day 01: Siem Reap – Chnok Tru |
8.00 am, meet up at the FCC Hotel in Siem Reap start our journey with the crossing of the Tonle Sap lake. The Tonle Sap, main lake of Cambodia, with waters rising from 2 to 11 meters and a surface quadrupled between August and January. Cruise Tonle Sap until arrival to Chnok Tru, visit of the floating village of Chnok Tru on small boats. Chnok Tru is a rarely visited village where Vietnamese originated fishermen live. Day 02: Kampong Chhnang – Kampong Tralach |
Visit Kampong Chhnang, a busy little harbor on the Tonle Sap famous with pottery workshops. In Kampong Tralach, stroll through the paddy fields to visit the beautiful Vihara of Kampong Tralach Leu pagoda. Dinner at local’s house. In the evening we will start our navigation towards Koh Chen. Day 03: Koh Chen |
Superb little island with craftsmen whose trades have not change for centuries. Visit of the island and then navigation towards Phnom Penh. Arriving in Phnom Penh for a city tour with visits of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum, which remarkable collections of Khmer arts and crafts are travelling across the world. Diner on board with Apsara dance performance. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
Day 04: Phnom Penh |
During the morning, visit of the Toul Sleng Museum (S21) and the Russian Market. Afternoon: free for your own leisure until boarding at night time and start to make our way to Vietnamese border. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
Day 05: Cao Lan |
Crossing the border and formalities, in the early morning, then we head towards Cao Lan, famous for being the center of the Vietnamese resistance is now known for its ornithological reserve, with beautiful swamp sceneries visited on smaller vessels. Arrive Sa Dec in the morning. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
Day 06: Sa Dec – Vinh Long – Cai Be |
Sa Dec, in the province of Dong Thap is the “Garden of Cochinchine”, a little known little city on the delta where the French writer Margerite Duras lived until her teenage years. Her mother was running a girls school, still to be seen. Some remaining colonial houses, including the “Maison du Chinois” from her novel “L’Amant” are part of the charm of the city. Visit Vinh Long, which means the majestic dragon, the city is situated right in the middle of the delta, between two arms of the Mekong. Cruise toward My Tho. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
Day 07: My Tho – Cho Gao canal |
In My Tho, visit the pagoda Vinh Trang, of tropical orchards, bee farm and a candy factory. We will board smaller boats and explore the arroyos, and then start the navigation on Cho Gao canal towards Saigon. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner |
Day 08: Saigon |
Arrive Saigon at noon time. Meals: Breakfast |
