Day 01: Siem Reap Arrival |
Welcome to Siem Reap. You are welcomed at the airport by our tour guide and transfer to the hotel to check in. This afternoon, you will experience the remork (tuk tuk) to get to Angkor Wat. To get an general view of spectacular Angkor, you will be on a tethered helium balloon that takes you up to 120m on the air. After that, we will drive to see Angkor Wat – the symbol of Khmer people built from 12th century. Apsara Dancing dinner. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap. Meals: Dinner |
Day 02: Siem Reap |
Continue your visit to the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with Colums, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple. Afternoon, you will explore the jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm is an incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man’s creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature. This is also where Tomb Raider was filmed. Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch |
Day 03: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat |
Today you will embark the boat trip to Tonle Sap Lake – the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, covering 250,000 hectares in the dry season. In monsoon season, Mekong river force the Tonle Sap River reverse its flow northwards back to the lake, spreading over the surrounding flood plain. You will visit Kompong Phluck, passing floating houses and impressive flooded forests and have a glimpse of local’s lives on the water. (From March to June, this route will be replaced by visiting the Chnong Kneas floating village due to dry season). In the afternoon, free at your own leisure. Or you can add in any of the options below: Option 1: Horseback-Riding at Happy Ranch Option 2: Quad Bike Adventure Option 3: Angkor Silk Farm This evening attend a performance of ‘Phare, the Cambodian Circus’. Starting at 7pm, professional artists of Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS) will perform an inspiring show suitable for people of all ages. Set up in Battambang in 1994 by young returnee Cambodians from the refugee camps who learned about using art as a means of coping with trauma, PPS has played an influential role in promoting and developing Khmer culture over the years after the Khmer Rouge genocide. The hour long show mixes traditional and modern theater, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling and contortion performed in a story about Cambodian lives and society. Overnight in Siem Reap.
