There are currently four airlines flying from Bangkok to Siem Reap: Cambodia Angkor Air, Bangkok Airways, AirAsia and Thai Smile. Here are the highlights:
Cambodia Angkor Air currently operates four weekly flights to Siem Reap from Bangkok (and some more during high season) with the prices starting around $58 one-way. The direct buses from Bangkok to Siem Reap, mini-buses or by taxi are the best options for overland travel.
The direct bus is the easiest option if you are on a budget and do not want to take a taxi. It costs $26 for a bus ride from Bangkok to Siem Reap and it is possible to purchase tickets online. Although there are many companies claiming to have a direct bus, Transport Co./Nattakan which is run by the Thai government and has permission to use the same bus for the whole trip between Thailand and Vietnam, which means you do not have to haul your baggage over the border is the only one that actually does. It takes around 8 or 9 hours for the whole trip.

Head straight through to the roundabout on the Cambodia’s side and look for a bus that is already occupied by passengers. It costs $8-10 from the Poipet border to Siem Reap and your trip may included some waiting around until the bus fills up.

For those who want to travel by taxi, it is a must to take two taxis — one taxi from Bangkok to the Cambodia’s border and another from this border to go to Siem Reap. A 3.5-hour taxi ride from Bangkok to the border expects to cost between 2,100 and 2,500 Thai baht ($60-70 USD). Then, you have to go across the border on foot, and then get on another taxi to Siem Reap. It may cost you around $35, but sometimes as much as $55 for a taxi from Poipet to Siem Reap.
